Hot Pie Crust for 1 Crust

7 T spoon of shortening

4 T of hot water

1 T of milk

1 t salt

1 1/2 C flour

Mix shortening with hot water; add milk, salt & flour

Set in ice box to cool

Peanut Butter Cookies

2 C Sugar Creamed with

1 C Butter

2 Eggs

3 t baking powder

3 C sifted flour

1 C peanut butter

Make into small balls. Flatten with fork. Bake in 350 degree oven.

Butter Cookies

1 Pound Butter (no sub)

1 1/2 C Sugar

3 Egg yolks

1/2 t Nutmeg

1/2 t Salt

About 5 C. Flour

Cream

Butter into Sugar, nutmeg, salt, have been added with eggs one at a time. Add flour until dough will come clean from hand. 

White Fudge

2 1/4 C Sugar

1/2 C. Sour Cream

1/4 C. Milk

2 T Butter

1 T Light Corn Syrup

1/4 t Salt

2 t Vanilla

1 C. Nuts

Combine sugar, sour cream, milk, butter, corn syrup, salt, & stir over med. head until sugar is dissolved & mixture reaches a boil. Boil oven moderate heat 9 to 10 min to 238 F. Soft ball. Remove from heat and allow to stand until lukewarm (110 F) 1 hr. Add vanilla & heat. Stir in nuts & turn into oiled pan. Let stand until firm before butting – makes 1 1/2 pounds. 

Crazy Crust Apple Pie

 

Crust –

1 C. Self rising flour

2 T Sugar

3/4 C. Water

2/3 C. Solid Veg. Shortening

1 Egg

Oven 425 Degree

Filling – 

1 Can (1 lb.) 5 oz. apple pie filling

1 T. lemon juice

1/2 T. Cinnamon

No need to sift – In small mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar, water, shorting & egg. Blend well at lowest speed; beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Spread batter in 9 or 10-inch deep-dish pie pan – Carefully spoon filling into center of better. Do not stir. 

Bake at 425 degrees for 40-45 minutes until crust is golden brown. 

Chicken & Spaghetti

1 Large hen

1 1/2 C. Chopped Celery

1 1/2 pkg. thin spaghetti

1 Can Cream of mushroom soup

1 Can pimentos

1 1/2 Hell Pepper

1 Pound Cheddar cheese

1 onion chopped

1 Garlic Button chopped

Boil hen until tender. Remove meat from bones and cut fine. Cook spaghetti in chicken broth until tender. Saute pimientos, pepper, onion, celery & garlic in 1/2 stick oleo. Cook slowly until tender. Contine chicken spaghetti, and fired seasoning. Add cream of mushroom soup. Mix thoroughly. Place in large casserole or 4 small. Grate cheese over top peace in oven until cheese melts and casserole is hot. 350 degrees.

Divinity

 

2 2/3 C. Sugar

2/3 C. Karo

2/3 Boiling water

Cook to hard ball stage or opens a thread. White of two eggs beaten stiffly. Pour syrup into egg white and beat candy until it loses its glossy look.

Strawberry Salad

2 pkgs strawberry jello

1 C. hot water

2 pkgs – (10 oz) frozen strawberries – Thawed

3 Mashed Bananas

1 Large Crushed pineapple & juice

1 C. Nuts

Dissolve jello in boiling H2O then add all other ingredients. 1/2 if for 6-8 people.

Japanese Fruit Cake Filling

Juice & Rind 3 Lemons

1 Coconut grated fine

2 C Sugar

1 C Boiling Water

1 T Cornstarch

Mix ingredients. Cook until lumps fall from spoon. Use 7 mins frosting to cover cake.

1/3 Cup Shortening

1/3 Cup Sugar

1/3 Cup Molasses

1 Egg Beaten

1 1/2 Cup Sifted Flour

1/4 T. Salt

1/2 T Each Baking Soda, Powdered Ginger Cloves, Cinnamon

Mix as usual – Add dry ingredients. 

Add 1/2 Cup Raisins

1/2 Cups Nuts

Bake at 350 Degrees for 30 Mins.

Cool.
